our work
Since 2005 NASSA has strived to be the leader in community basketball. It started with the components of any community, the park, the adult and the young child that wants to dream of being someone in their community. Our aim is to help these young people realise their aspirations. Give them the tools in life that basketball provides and to nurture them in to being young leaders of tomorrow and for some of them the next sporting hero.
Each year we continue to grow our projects and sustain them in the community by the support of local government and volunteers from the community. NASSA started with the Director, Natasha Hart and now has grown to having a committee of 6 that navigates their Charities ambitions, as well as having 20 active volunteers. We have seen a 93% increase in the school partnership programmes over the last 5 years which means 2,000 young people a week now enjoy a NASSA training programme.
The first project NASSA started was a community project and that, like a lot of people involved with sport is the heart of the charity. Continual investment is required to meet our promise to deliver high quality basketball training across all of our community projects.
